Do not be discouraged because it’s been a few weeks or maybe even months since you decided to recover. Do not be discouraged because you had a relapse. Battling an illness is hard, battling an unseen stigmatized illness is even harder. But never doubt yourself, you will recover, you will be happy, you will be whatever you want to be. Just know that it will take time, you can’t just snap out of depression, you keep waking up every day. You ask for help when you need it. On bad days, take care of yourself. You don’t have to win gold at the Olympics, remember everyone else who has ever been suicidal will know what a big achievement just getting through the day can be!On good days, push yourself out of your comfort zone. And be proud of yourself for doing that, even if it doesn’t go the way you planned. You are enough, you are loved and you are important. Recovery isn’t easy but it is so worth it! Stop waiting for that light bulb moment to happen. Look for the sun in every day, especially the rainy days. And one day you will see the rainbow. You’ll see a double rainbow. The sun will be so bright you’l have to scrunch up your eyes. Just get through today, there is always tomorrow. I know you can do it.
